Capabilities
- Deep Tissue / Myofascial Release
- Deep Tissue massage is not always a full body massage. It is used to
release chronic patterns of muscular tension using slow strokes, direct
pressure, or friction on a focused problem area. The movements are directed
across the grain of the muscles (cross-fiber) using the fingers, thumbs, or
elbows. This is applied with greater pressure and at deeper layers of the
muscle than Swedish massage. "Deep" doesn't necessarily mean "hard." With
proper technique, muscles deep in the body can be reached with a minimum
amount of pressure.
Pain is NOT gain. If you experience any pain or discomfort during your
session, immediately inform the practitioner so that the pressure and/or
strokes may be adjusted to your level of comfort.
Deep tissue massage is not recommended for anyone who is experiencing fever,
diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, jaundice, varicose veins, bleeding, acute
phlebitis, or thrombosis. In the case of high blood pressure or heart
problems, avoid massage to the abdomen. Anyone with fractures or bruises
should not receive massage on areas of injury. Deep tissue massage is
contraindicated during pregnancy.

- CranioSacral Therapy
- CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the
functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system -
comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect
the brain and spinal cord.
Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of
a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to
improve the functioning of the central nervous system.
By complementing the body's natural healing processes, CST is increasingly
used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to
disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated
with pain and dysfunction, including:
* Migraine Headaches
* Chronic Neck and Back Pain
* Motor-Coordination Impairments
* Colic
* Autism
* Central Nervous System Disorders
* Orthopedic Problems
* Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries
* Scoliosis
* Infantile Disorders
* Learning Disabilities
* Chronic Fatigue
* Emotional Difficulties
* Stress and Tension-Related Problems
* Fibromyalgia and other Connective-Tissue Disorders
* Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ)
* Neurovascular or Immune Disorders
* Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
* Post-Surgical Dysfunction

- Reflexology
- Reflexology is the application of pressure, stretch and movement to the
feet and hands to effect corresponding parts of the body. Reflexologists
view the feet and hands as a mirror image of the body. By applying technique
a reflexologist can break up patterns of stress in other parts of the body.
How does reflexology work? There are many theories but in our approach we
look at the nervous system as the explanation of reflexology's working.
Pressure applied to the feet generates a signal through the peripheral
nervous system. From there it enters the central nervous system where it is
processed in various parts of the brain. It is then relayed to the internal
organs to allocate the necessary adjustments in fuel and oxygen, Finally a
response is fashioned that is sent onto the motor system. This message is
fed forward to adjust the body's tone or overall tension level. If applied
properly the tone will reset itself to a lower operating tempo. A lower
operating tempo means a lessening of stress and less wear and tear on the
body's systems.
In general terms the benefits of reflexology have to do with the reduction
of stress. Because the feet and hands help set the tension level for the
rest of the body they are an easy way to interrupt the stress signal and
reset homeostasis, the body's equilibrium. Whether reflexology can benefit
certain conditions and diseases in still under investigation. Further
scientific study need to be done in order to come to some definite benefits
of reflexology in regard to illness and disease. Reflexology is a complement
to standard medical care. It should not be construed as medical advice. It
should not be a replacement to medical help. Please use it wisely. We care
about your safety.
